Facility Guide

The park map shows the location of various facilities such as stores, restaurants, and restrooms within the Shinjuku Gyoen grounds. The Information Center is located at the Shinjuku Gate. There are also several rest areas in the park.

    Information:
    This facility offers information about the history of Shinjuku Gyoen and its seasonal highlights. In this building is also the National Parks Discovery Center which provides information about attractions at national parks across Japan through a theater, experience-type digital content, and an information counter. Also recommended are the sales area where you can purchase Shinjuku Gyoen and national park-themed goods, and the Art Gallery, where nature photographs, paintings, and other artworks are on display.

    Greenhouse

            Information:
            This facility has been designed to help visitors make the most of their time with nature in the Mother and Child Woods. Exhibits inside the rest house give an introduction to the plants and animals that can be found in the woods, as well as tips for observation and more. There are plenty of things for children to enjoy, too, such as picture books about nature and interactive exhibits. Feel free to drop by before or after your walk through the Mother and Child Woods.

                  Information:
                  Established by Sasaya Iori, a longstanding Kyoto confectioner that has been serving customers for over three centuries, SASAYAIORI+ Shinjuku Gyoen is a takeout-only café serving innovative Japanese sweets and other items. The plus symbol in the café’s name embodies the concept of going beyond the boundaries of a traditional Japanese confectioner and trying new things. The aim of this positive initiative at Shinjuku Gyoen is to create a sustainable tea house that works on environmental conservation efforts while also passing down cultural history to the next generation.

                      Muroya is a specialty restaurant serving inari sushi made with yuzu vinegared rice. The restaurant prepares its unique yuzu vinegared rice with a closely guarded recipe to ensure an appetizing taste that always hits the spot. Each piece of inari sushi is carefully crafted to ensure a perfect balance between the rice and the sweetness of the juicy fried tofu pockets, with the complex flavors shining through without overpowering one another.                         Located between the Shinjuku Gate and Japanese Traditional Garden, Yurinoki Tsuburano is a great spot to have lunch or take a break. Try dishes prepared with Naito chili peppers grown at Shinjuku Gyoen and Edo Tokyo vegetables (heirloom varieties from Japan’s Edo period).

                          This coworking space was designed to provide garden visitors a new, never-seen-before type of workspace. It was based on the concept of addressing the demand for places where people can work remotely while allowing them to take in the natural atmosphere of Shinjuku Gyoen, a precious oasis in the heart of Tokyo. Enjoy looking out through the large windows at the verdant greenery in the Japanese Traditional Garden.

                          The coworking space building also includes the Shinjuku Gyoen Oshigoto-kan Gallery, which introduces the many different types of jobs that need to be carried out in order to maintain and manage Shinjuku Gyoen.
