Twice-Monthly Complimentary Guided Tours
Park volunteers offer free guided walking tours of the gardens twice a day at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. The tour route and content is determined by the interests of its participants and the seasonal highlights on courses such as the “Shinjuku Gyoen General Introduction Course,” “Mother and Child Woods Walking Course,” and “Seasonal Plants Observation Course.” Visitors who would like to participate are requested to gather in front of the information signboard on the right side of the Shinjuku Gate entrance by the start time.
(Time required: Approximately 90 minutes.) Participation is free and does not require a reservation.

Rose Guided Tour
Roses reach their peak in May and around October, with some 500 plants of 100 or so varieties seeming to compete with one another with their wide range of reds, scarlets, pinks, yellows, and whites. The rose guided walking tours are held during the peak flower seasons, with a volunteer group introducing the rose varieties, their aromas and other characteristics, tips for cultivation, and other details.
(Required time: Approximately 45 minutes) Participation is free and does not require a reservation.
