New and updated measures from Palestine and Latvia
Following the UN Third Global Conference on Strengthening Synergies between the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development held on 20-21 July, a couple of countries shared their ambitious measures to tackle both environmental and COVID-19 crises.
Palestine submitted measures for the very first time to the Platform, with a range of ambitious initiatives relevant to sustainable transportation, energy, waste management, health and sanitation, agriculture, and more.
Latvia also submitted new measures and updates on existing measures:
- Energy efficiency in municipal buildings
- Zero-emission vehicles for transportation of learners
- COVID-19 loan program
- Creation of public infrastructure in degraded areas
- Business public infrastructure for the development of industrial parks and areas
- Nature tourism and improvement of Natura 2000 infrastructure
