Response
Emergency measures in the short term (a few months to one year) to address concerns that have directly emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic and may include forced action.
Recovery
Socioeconomic measures in the medium term (one to a few years) with an environmental and climate focus to “build back better” from COVID-19, and usually involves planned, intentional action.
Redesign
Paradigm shifts and measures in the long term (more than a few years to a few decades) toward redesigning current socioeconomic and sociocultural systems to be sustainable and resilient.

    Introduction of mandatory Green Building Code and government implementation in public buildings with focus on educational institutions

    Redesign
    In order to increase solar energy production within limited land resources, to massively increase widespread PV and storage installations on exiting housing, traffic interchanges and agricultural and other infrastructure, resulting also in job creation.

    Reducing the use of private vehicles through major infrastructure investment in solutions such as, mass public transportation including urban light rail in major cities and a new Metro system in the Tel Aviv area.

    Expansion of the activity of the National Resource Efficiency Center. The center is aimed at assisting industry  in reducing raw materials consumption and as result achieving GHG reduction and job creation.

4.International Cooperation

  • COVID19 recovery and other environmental issues

    Response
    MASHAV- Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation is supporting countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the COVID-19 pandemic crisis MASHAV has conducted on-line courses and lectures on different issues related to Climate and COVID-19 challenges, for example: a series of lectures on water issues: “Water Security and Emergency Management in Difficult Times” and “Water Quality Preservation and Remediation: Present & Future Challenges and lectures in "Remote Crop Optimization in Challenging Times"
