New Publication: From COVID-19 Response to Sustainable Redesign
On 16 December 2021, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) launched their working paper, “From COVID-19 Response to Sustainable Redesign: How Decarbonization, Circular Economy, and Decentralization can Guide the Transition and Strengthen National Climate Objectives”. This working paper analyzes measures shared on the Platform for Redesign 2020 (as of August 2021) as well as external sources through the lens of the Three Transitions (decarbonization, circular economy, and decentralization). Based on the insights gleaned from the Platform and elsewhere, the publication outlines recommendations to realize a sustainable redesign in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
