“Kamuiwakka” means “Water of the Gods” in the Ainu language.
You can walk through the lower reaches of these hot spring falls, as well as view them as part of the pristine natural landscape. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the Yu-no-Taki Falls entrance to Ichi-no-Taki, the first cascade. The water is strongly acidic and contains sulfur, so those with sensitive skin should be careful.
Along the way, keep an eye out for green algae forming a biomat that lives among the sulfur components.
Joining a tour will help you discover things that you probably wouldn’t notice on your own.
