Come see waterfalls cascading from the side of a cliff!
On the western (Utoro) side of the Shiretoko Peninsula, there are a number of cascades that fall from partway down a 100 m-high cliff face into the Sea of Okhotsk. Here, rather than forming a river, water that has seeped into the Earth emerges from partway down a precipitous cliff as cascades that drop into the sea. These tours provide access to this one-of-a-kind spectacle.
The trail is almost level, so you’ll be fine even if you aren’t into mountain climbing.
